Simon Glacken

April 09, 2017 by Samuel Nicholls

Director, I Like Press

Simon Glacken spent three years at Nottingham Trent University and then the following six working in the world of project management. From 2007-2013 he co-formed DIY Leeds noise/rock/progressive record label Brew Records and with the desire to do everything in-house proceeded to take on the role of PR for the label as well as booking tours, setting up releases, promoting gigs and all the day-to-day things that come with running a label all in his spare time whilst holding down a full-time job. After working on a number of releases for the label and with the sense of dread that came with working in a day job you didn't like when you're edging closer to your 30s, the logical step was to make the jump with I Like Press and pursue a career in PR.

Simon has worked on many albums, tours and festivals with the likes of Darkthrone, 65daysofstatic, Paradise Lost, Anathema, TesseracT, Autopsy, And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, My Dying Bride, Opeth, Katatonia, Pentagram, The Pineapple Thief, Cult Of Luna, Bloodbath, Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails), Arabrot, Cradle of Filth, Black Moth, Hawk Eyes, Blacklisters, SikTh, Live at Leeds, Maybeshewill, Alpha Male Tea Party, Beacons Festival, Best Kept Secret Festival (The Netherlands), Be Prog! My Friend (Barcelona) and Ritual Festival.
